Frequently asked questions

What people ask us before we start, answered straight. If yours isn’t here, email us at [email protected].

Before we start

How much does a website cost?

A website with all the basics covered runs around $550. Beyond that, it depends on the number of pages and the key piece your industry needs. On the call we give you a fixed price, in writing, before we start. You pay in two halves: when we start and when you see the finished website.

How long does it take?

It depends on what your website needs, so we don’t set a timeline before we know your business. On the call we look at which tools you need and tell you how long it’ll take. The process, step by step, is in our method.

What do I need to do?

A twenty-minute call, sending us your logo and some photos, and reviewing the website when it’s done. We write the copy.

Do you work with businesses in the US?

Yes. Everything is done remotely: the call, the review and the launch, over video call.

Are the websites you show from clients?

No. They’re demos: sample businesses we built to show how we approach each industry. We always say so when we show them.

The website

Why not Wix or WordPress?

They can be a good option if you want to build it yourself. We build custom websites in HTML: no plugins to update, they load very fast and there’s no hosting fee. We explain it properly in this guide.

Will I rank first on Google?

Nobody can honestly promise that. We do the SEO that depends on the website, which is the foundation of your ranking: that it loads fast, that Google understands what you do and where, and that your Business Profile is complete. The rest (reviews, time, the competition in your area) builds up afterward. More in the article how to show up on the map.

Can I edit the text myself?

The website doesn’t have an editing dashboard: that’s part of what keeps it fast and secure. You ask us for changes and we make them. If something changes often, we set it up so you can update it yourself from a simple file.

Do I need a cookie banner?

Not if the website doesn’t use third-party cookies. Ours don’t load anything from other servers until the visitor asks for it (the map, for example), so there’s nothing for a banner to ask about.

Do I own the website?

Yes: the domain, the website and the account it’s hosted on are in your name. You also get all the files.

After launch

Are there monthly fees?

There’s no hosting fee. You only pay for your domain, usually once a year, to wherever it’s registered. Maintenance is optional.

What if I want to switch providers?

You take the folder with the website and give access to whoever you like. Since everything is in your name, you don’t need to ask us for anything.

What if something stops working?

For the first 30 days we fix it for free. After that, you email us and we take a look. With no plugins or database involved, it’s rare for something to break on its own.
